APPG Co-Chairs Paul Blomfield MP and Lord Bilimoria have welcomed the news that the Graduate route will remain.
Commenting on the Government’s decision to accept the Migration Advisory Committee’s recommendation to retain the Graduate route in its current form, they said:
“The Government has confirmed that the Graduate route will be maintained in its current form, as part of a package of measures to strengthen the confidence international students can have in the quality and transparency of our education system. This is the right outcome for international students and for our country’s higher education sector.
“There is still more that the next Government and universities can do together to build on the Graduate route’s contribution to our international competitiveness and its economic benefits for every region of the UK. The report published by the APPG last year sets out a roadmap for achieving these aims, with 10 simple recommendations that should now be considered anew for implementation.”
